Breaking Bad actor Mike Batayeh has died suddenly at the age of 52.
The comedian and actor, best known to fans of the AMC show for playing the manager at Gustavo’s infamous laundromat, died in his sleep of a heart attack while at home in Michigan on June 1. Mirror reports.
Batayeh’s death was very sudden, according to his relatives, and he did not have a history of heart issues.
Mike played Dennis Markowski in three episodes of the award-winning series Breaking Bad.
He played the laundromat manager from 2011 to 2012 and the late actor was featured during the acclaimed show’s fourth and fifth seasons.
Speaking about the late actor – who was also a stand up comedian and writer – his sister told TMZ that Mike will be ‘greatly missed’ by his family.
A statement that has been issued by the family recently reads: ‘He will be greatly missed by those who loved him and his great ability to bring laughter and joy to so many.
Mike also appeared in other shows including historical drama Marco Polo, sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and police procedural drama CSI: Miami.
He is also credited as having appeared in the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond earlier in his career and he’s said to have worked on X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014).
Tributes have been paid to the late actor and comedian following news of his death, including posts about Mike on Instagram from those who knew him.
One person wrote in a tribute just days ago: ‘He was a comedian’s comedian and loved by so many. He was always armed with his quick wit, pirate’s smile and his intrinsically optimistic laugh. He was a good man with a giant heart’.
Another person, who said that they had worked with Mike earlier in his career, wrote in a post: ‘He was a very talented actor and comedian but more importantly a great friend.’
A celebration of life service will take place June 16 in Plymouth, Michigan, his manager told The Post.
