Colombian pop singer, Shakira has got great love and respect for her American counterpart, Beyoncé.

During a new interview, she declares the Lemonade singer as music royalty.

The ‘Hips Don’t Lie’ crooner made this revelation in the latest episode of her show, Shakira Radio Station on Apple Music with Nile Rodgers.

Why Beyoncé is Her Queen

Her reason was that Beyoncé has done a lot for women of colour in the US and around the world, and for women in general.

She said: ‘She [Beyoncé’] is the queen. I mean, this is just so incredible, what she does for minorities in the US and around the world, what she’s done for women of color, what she’s done for women in general.

She continued to detail, ‘The purpose that her life and her music has is undeniable, and it’s of a great magnitude. I don’t even think we realize what she’s done at a social level, on a social scale, on a political level as well.

Shakira and Beyoncé collaborated on the hit song ‘Beautiful Liar’ back in 2006.

This made her to applaud her professionalism. ‘She’s a hard worker. She’s a bee. A busy bee. She’s Queen Bey,’ she said.
