Grammy-Nominated Rapper, Slowthai, Alongside His Pop Star Wife, Anne-Marie Appeared In Court Today, Over Charges Of R*pe
Grammy-nominated rapper Slowthai, whose real name is Tyron Kaymone Frampton, appeared in court today alongside his pop star wife, Anne-Marie, as he prepares to stand trial for charges of r*pe.
The British artist faces two accusations of r*ping a woman following a performance at the Bullingdon Club in Oxford on September 8, 2021. The alleged incident occurred after his gig at the exclusive venue, associated with the University of Oxford.
Both Frampton and co-defendant Balke-Walker deny the charges brought against them.
A jury of eight men and four women was sworn in today, with the trial set to commence on Tuesday.
Judge Ian Pringle cautioned the jurors against discussing the case, conducting personal research, or consuming any media coverage.
“This case may attract publicity,” the judge noted. “If it does, remember that a reporter’s report is just their view. What matters is the evidence you hear in court and your judgment of it.”
The trial is expected to last up to three weeks.
