The police in Ogun State have initiated an investigation into the tragic death of 65-year-old Oladega Morenike, who was reportedly pushed to her death during a heated argument with her female neighbor, Abigel Bankole, in their residence on Isunba Street in the Ipokia area on November 21.
Ibrahim Oladega, the son of the deceased, informed the police that around 4:20 PM, his mother had an argument with Bankole.
He alleged that the dispute escalated into a physical altercation, during which Morenike was shoved, causing her to strike her head against a wall and collapse.
Upon receiving the report, detectives responded to the scene, where they found the victim lying unconscious.
She was photographed and later transported to the General Hospital in Ipokia, where she was pronounced dead by a doctor. The body was then taken to the mortuary at General Hospital, Ilaro, for an autopsy.
The suspect, Abigel Bankole, fled the scene and remains at large, with efforts ongoing to apprehend her.
Confirming the incident, police spokesperson SP Omolola Odutola stated that preliminary investigations are underway, and the case will be transferred to the SCID in Abeokuta for further action.
