Seoul Seongdong Police reported that the actor, known for his role in Moon Embracing the Sun, was found deceased at his home in Seoul. A friend who had arrived for a lunch meeting around 12:30 pm discovered his body, along with a note left at the scene.

Authorities have stated there were no indications of foul play, but the exact cause of death is still under investigation.

A family representative announced that a private funeral will be held on November 14 for close relatives. Korean media outlet Soompi revealed that a two-page letter was found at the scene.

Song Jae-rim gained recognition for his performances in Moon Embracing the Sun (2012), Actresses (2009), and the reality show We Got Married (2014). He also appeared in popular K-dramas such as Inspiring Generation, Hot Ramen, Cool Guys, and Queen Woo. Recently, he starred in the musical La Rose De Versailles, with his final performance on October 13.
