As the festive season approaches, Prince William and Princess Kate are gearing up for Christmas. Kate is set to host her annual carol service at Westminster Abbey on December 6.
Like many families, William and Kate are likely planning a calendar filled with festive activities, including opportunities to give back to their community.
In recent years, the couple has treated their three children—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis—to Christmas-themed outings. In December 2022, the family enjoyed a magical day at Lapland UK in Ascot, known for its reindeer, toy factory, and enchanting forest.
The outing was low-key, with the royals dressed casually. William sported a padded jacket, blue jeans, and a flat cap, while Kate opted for an all-black outfit layered under a brown belted coat and a bobble hat.
The children were spotted carrying matching cuddly toys, and their nanny, Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, accompanied them on the festive adventure.
The Waleses also support local traditions and were seen last year picking up a Christmas tree near their Windsor home, Adelaide Cottage. According to a source, “It’s no surprise that Prince William and his family picked their tree from Windsor Great Park. The late Queen and King Charles have both followed this family tradition.”
During the holidays, the Wales family traditionally joins the wider royal family at Sandringham, staying at their Norfolk country home, Anmer Hall. Over the years, Kate has been spotted with the children enjoying local activities such as swimming, shopping, and even casual pub lunches.
In 2020, William, Kate, and their children participated in the Luminate light trail at Sandringham, though the visit drew attention for inadvertently breaching the Rule of Six during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their children, Lady Louise Windsor and James, Earl of Wessex, were also present. However, a Sandringham source clarified that the families had separate time slots for the trail and maintained their family groups.
While Prince William has emphasized that his children’s education remains a priority over royal duties, George, Charlotte, and Louis are gradually being introduced to their public roles, ensuring they grow into their responsibilities at a comfortable pace.
