31-Year-Old Woman Who S*xually Abused Her Two Children Aged 4, Says She Was Suffering 'Extreme Stress' From Divorce
Keirsten White, a resident of Opelousas, Louisiana, faces charges of first-degree r*pe, s*xual battery, two counts of indecent behavior with juveniles, and two counts of cruelty to juveniles.
Earlier this week, White voluntarily turned herself in at the St. Landry Parish Jail and confessed to both s*xually and physically abusing her children, who are both under the age of four.
Following her confession, detectives launched an investigation, and with White’s cooperation, confirmed the truth of her statements, leading to her arrest. White explained that the abuse occurred due to the extreme stress she was experiencing from her divorce.
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz of St. Landry Parish confirmed that White provided detailed information about her actions when she surrendered on Sunday.
“Upon hearing this shocking confession and finding no outstanding warrants, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office began its investigation,” Guidroz stated. “Through White’s cooperation, detectives from the Juvenile Division were able to fully understand the extent of the criminal acts involving the children.”
White told detectives that her actions were the result of the emotional strain caused by her divorce.
“While we, as Christians, are taught to ‘hate the sin, not the sinner,’ law enforcement’s duty is to enforce the law,” Guidroz added. “We are grateful that White chose to surrender and fully cooperated with investigators.”
If convicted, White could face life imprisonment, the maximum penalty for first-degree r*pe under Louisiana law.
