Danny Pintauro, the American actor and film producer known for his role in Who’s the Boss?, has revealed he required emergency surgery after a scooter accident on Thanksgiving night.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, Pintauro shared that while he initially thought he had only broken his arm, his condition worsened the following day. He began experiencing severe chest, stomach, and shoulder pain, along with difficulty breathing.
Concerned, his husband took him to the hospital, where doctors discovered a tear in his stomach had caused a bloodstream infection.
“It was the worst moment of my life,” Pintauro wrote, describing the excruciating pain he endured. Doctors performed emergency surgery overnight, which successfully alleviated his symptoms. He credited his quick recovery to the medical team’s prompt action, adding, “If I had waited any longer, I could’ve died.”
The actor expressed gratitude to the nurses, doctors, and surgeon for their care, noting this was his first-ever major surgery. “It was absolutely terrifying, but I kept it together,” he shared.
Despite his initial fears, Pintauro revealed his arm wasn’t broken. He thanked his husband, Wil, for staying by his side throughout the ordeal.
Pintauro, who played Jonathan Bower on Who’s the Boss? from 1984 to 1992 alongside Tony Danza, Judith Light, and Alyssa Milano, has since appeared in projects like The Secret Life of the American Teenager and A Country Christmas Harmony.
