Donald Trump Shares Details Of Private Conversation With Prince William

Donald Trump has opened up about his recent meeting with Prince William, describing their interaction as a “great talk” while revealing details of their private conversation in Paris on Saturday.

The Prince of Wales, 42, met the US President-elect, 78, at the British ambassador’s residence following the ceremonial reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral. The meeting took place in the Salon Jaune room, where the pair discussed various topics, including updates on their families.

Speaking to the New York Post, Mr. Trump shared that he inquired about the health of William’s father, King Charles, and his wife, the Princess of Wales, both of whom are battling cancer.

“I had a great talk with the prince. I asked him about his wife, and he said she’s doing well. I also asked about his father, and he said his father is fighting very hard. He loves his father and his wife deeply—it was sad. We spoke for a little more than half an hour, and it was a wonderful conversation,” Mr. Trump said.

King Charles continues to balance his treatment with public duties, while the Princess of Wales recently completed chemotherapy in September. Kate was last seen hosting her annual Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey, while King Charles and Queen Camilla recently welcomed the Emir of Qatar for a state visit.

Mr. Trump also praised Prince William, commenting on his appearance: “He’s a good-looking guy. Some people look better in person, and he looked fantastic. I told him that.”

During their meeting, the two shook hands before Mr. Trump turned to reporters, remarking, “Wow, what a nice group,” and gesturing toward William, adding, “Good man, this one,” and, “He’s doing a fantastic job.”

Prince William, showing his characteristic warmth, asked Mr. Trump if he had warmed up after the outdoor ceremony. The President-elect replied that he had and described the event as “beautiful.”

The 40-minute discussion also touched on global issues and the importance of the US-UK relationship. According to Kensington Palace, Mr. Trump reflected fondly on his memories of the late Queen Elizabeth II.

This marked the second meeting between Prince William and Mr. Trump, who previously met during the former president’s state visit to the UK in 2019.

The Prince of Wales attended the ceremony in Paris alongside other European royals, including Prince Albert of Monaco, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, and King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium.
