Controversial attorney Tony Buzbee has fired back at Jay-Z after the rapper denied allegations that he and Sean “Diddy” Combs r*ped one of Buzbee’s clients in 2000.
Earlier today, Jay-Z’s name was added to a lawsuit filed by Buzbee, accusing him and Combs of raping a 13-year-old girl at an MTV VMAs afterparty in 2000.
In response to the lawsuit, Jay-Z claimed that Buzbee was attempting to blackmail him and stated his intention to fight back.
However, Buzbee tweeted that when his firm sent a demand letter on behalf of the alleged victim, she never asked for any money from Jay-Z, only seeking confidential mediation. He added, “Since I sent the letter on her behalf, Mr. Carter has not only sued me but also tried to bully and harass me and this plaintiff.”
Buzbee further claimed that Jay-Z, whose full name is Shawn Corey Carter, previously denied suing him and his firm, filing the lawsuit under a pseudonym.
The attorney said the lawsuit had the opposite effect on the alleged victim, strengthening her resolve. He concluded, “As far as the allegations in the complaint filed, we will let the filing speak for itself and litigate the facts in court, not in the media.”
In response to Buzbee’s claims, Jay-Z filed a lawsuit in November under the pseudonym John Doe, accusing Buzbee of extortion.
According to documents obtained by TMZ, the lawsuit alleged Buzbee threatened to release fabricated and malicious sexual assault allegations, including r*pe of a minor, unless his demands were met.
Buzbee’s demand letters further accused the plaintiff of raping victims while they were under the influence of drugs at parties hosted by Combs.
