The body of 27-year-old Nathaniel Favour Enemona, a father of two, was discovered in the River Roch in Greater Manchester nearly three weeks after he went missing. His family has paid heartfelt tribute to him.
Nathaniel was reported missing from the Roch Valley area on the morning of Sunday, November 24. Community members in Heywood joined efforts to locate him, while police conducted multiple searches of the River Roch.
Tragically, his body was recovered from the river on Saturday, December 14, and identified the following day.
In a statement released through Greater Manchester Police, Nathaniel’s family described him as “a loving and caring husband and father who always put his family first.”
They added, “He was a good friend to many and a talented singer-songwriter. Favour will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. We ask for privacy to process this devastating loss and thank the people of Heywood for their overwhelming love and support.”
Authorities have confirmed that Nathaniel’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and an inquest will be held at a later date.
Nathaniel’s wife, Eunice, previously told the Manchester Evening News that he left their home in Heywood at around 8:30 AM on November 24, saying he was going to the shops. He left his phone behind. A dog walker later reported seeing him in a “sleepy state” sitting on a wall beside the fast-flowing river, which had been swollen by Storm Bert.
When Eunice returned home, Nathaniel was gone, but his slider-style footwear was found nearby. The dog walker, who recognized him as a regular visitor to the Heywood Waterfall area, immediately contacted the police.
Nathaniel’s death has left his family and community in mourning, as they remember him as a devoted father, husband, and friend.
