The Duke Of Westminster And Wife Expecting Their First Child

The Duke of Westminster and his wife, Olivia Henson, have announced they are expecting their first child.

The couple, who exchanged vows in a spectacular ceremony at Chester Cathedral on 7 June 2024, are now preparing for an exciting new chapter in their lives. Since their wedding, Hugh Grosvenor, the 7th Duke of Westminster, and the Duchess have largely maintained a low profile.

A spokesperson for the couple shared the joyful news in a statement: “The Duke and Duchess of Westminster are very pleased to share that the Duchess is expecting a baby in the summer. The couple are delighted with the news and are very much looking forward to starting a family together.”

The announcement follows the couple’s recent public engagement at a local school, where they interacted warmly with children as part of the Duke’s foundation initiative. Their visit, which included sharing breakfast with students, showcased their dedication to community work.

Since their wedding, the Duke and Duchess have embraced a private lifestyle, even managing to stay out of the spotlight while attending the wedding of Olivia’s younger brother, Jasper Henson, in September 2024. The intimate ceremony took place at the picturesque Lupiana Monastery near Madrid, where Jasper wed Isabel Rodríguez-Legorburu.

King Charles’s godson, the Duke of Westminster, met Olivia in 2021 through mutual friends. They announced their engagement in April 2023 with a relaxed photograph taken on the grounds of Eaton Hall, the Duke’s family estate in Cheshire.

Frequently dubbed “Britain’s most eligible bachelor” due to his aristocratic lineage, immense wealth, and close ties to Prince William and Prince Harry, the Duke is also the godfather of Prince George and Prince Archie.

The couple’s wedding on 7 June 2024 drew excited crowds outside Chester Cathedral, where they received enthusiastic cheers before exchanging vows. Olivia looked radiant in an elegant ivory silk gown by London-based designer Emma Victoria Payne, adorned with floral motifs and embroidered with the couple’s initials. She completed her look with the Grosvenor family’s Fabergé Myrtle Leaf Tiara, dating back to 1906.

The ceremony was attended by members of the British royal family, including Prince William and Princess Eugenie.
