U.S. President Donald Trump is increasingly frustrated with both Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky as the Russia-Ukraine war continues, according to the White House.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt revealed on Monday that Trump is pushing for a permanent ceasefire in Ukraine, following Putin’s announcement of a three-day pause in fighting in May.

Leavitt told reporters, “Trump is frustrated with the leaders of both countries. He is advocating for a permanent ceasefire. I understand that Vladimir Putin has offered a temporary ceasefire this morning.”

She added, “The president has made it clear that he wants to see a permanent ceasefire to stop the killing and bloodshed. While he remains optimistic about the possibility of striking a deal, he also recognizes the need for both leaders to negotiate their way out of this conflict.”

This statement comes after Putin’s declaration of a temporary ceasefire to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Second World War.
