Princess Beatrice Was Ahead Of The Curve On 2025’s Biggest Hair Trend

Bows are dominating the fashion scene in 2025—from runways to red carpets and city streets. But before they became the must-have accessory of the year, Princess Beatrice had already embraced the trend, quietly leading the way as early as 2023.

Long before bows became a fashion staple, Beatrice had been incorporating them into her signature style, wearing them with elegance and ease. And now, it seems other royals are following suit.

Royals Embracing the Bow Trend

Princess Kate recently turned heads at the VE Day concert, marking her first official appearance in months. Dressed in a sleek bouclé jacket and pleated lace chiffon dress, she completed the look with a simple black bow nestled in the back of her hair—a subtle but striking nod to the trend that Beatrice had already been championing.

Young Princess Charlotte has also joined in on the look. At the 2024 Christmas Carol Service, she appeared in a crisp red coat with a half-up hairstyle secured with a classic black bow, adding a touch of grown-up charm to her festive outfit.

Beatrice: The Quiet Trendsetter

While bows are now everywhere, Princess Beatrice has long made them a regular feature in her wardrobe.

At the 2023 royal wedding of Jordan’s Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, Beatrice wowed in a delicate Needle & Thread lace dress, accessorised with a matching belt and a chic black bow securing her curled half-up hairstyle. The look was both romantic and modern—perfectly on-trend before the trend even took off.

Later that same year, she was spotted out in London wearing a black velvet bow in a loose ponytail, paired with a Claudie Pierlot trench coat and a Celine belt bag—a polished and fashion-forward street style moment.

A Family Flair for Hair Accessories

It’s no surprise that Beatrice has a flair for hair embellishments—after all, her mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, made bows and accessories a key part of her royal wardrobe in the 1980s. Known for her playful style, Sarah often wore oversized hair bows and even once adorned her hair with Union Jack and American flag pins during a 1988 U.S. visit.

Now, as bows take over 2025’s fashion landscape, it’s clear that Princess Beatrice was one step ahead, bringing a timeless accessory back into the spotlight—and doing so with royal grace.
