Iranian authorities have arrested 700 people accused of being ‘mercenaries of Israel,’ reported state-affiliated Fars News Agency.
Per CNN, the report stated, ‘The mercenaries, who mainly operated in the framework of espionage and sabotage networks, were identified and arrested based on public reports and intelligence operations.’
Israel’s spy agency, Mossad, acknowledged the role of its undercover personnel working in Iran since it started launching airstrikes at the Islamic Republic on June 13.
Both Iran and Israel have since said they would respect the ceasefire as long as the other country doesn’t violate it. But ceasefires in the region are notoriously fragile, and the parties involved are still on edge.
