Iran Reports ‘No Danger’ To Civilians Near U.S.-Struck Nuclear Sites

Iranian officials have sought to reassure the public that there is no immediate threat to civilian safety following U.S. airstrikes on three key nuclear facilities early Sunday morning, amid escalating tensions with Israel and the United States.

“There is no danger to the people living on the outskirts of our nuclear areas,” said government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani during a televised address. “The people of Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow can continue their lives.”

The statement came just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that American warplanes had carried out coordinated strikes on the three nuclear sites, which are central to Iran’s uranium enrichment program. The move has been widely viewed as a significant escalation in an already fragile regional landscape.

In a separate statement, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization sought to bolster public confidence, downplaying the long-term impact of the strikes on the nation’s nuclear capabilities.

“They should know that this industry has roots in our country, and the roots of this national industry cannot be destroyed,” said agency spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi, as quoted by Iran’s Tasnim news agency. “Of course, we have suffered damage, but this is not the first time our industry has endured such setbacks.”

The messaging appears aimed at quelling public concern and projecting resilience in the face of mounting international pressure. Iran has long maintained that its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes, despite accusations from Western powers that it seeks to develop nuclear weapons.

The strikes have drawn swift condemnation from several global powers, including China and Russia, both of which warned that further aggression risks triggering a broader regional conflict. Diplomatic observers have urged restraint, calling for a renewed push toward negotiation before the crisis spirals further out of control.

With tensions running high and military posturing intensifying, Iran’s public messaging reflects an effort to maintain internal stability while signaling its resolve to continue nuclear development—despite foreign intervention.
