Iranian State TV Rocked By Explosion During Live Broadcast Amid Escalating Conflict With Israel

A live broadcast on Iranian state television was abruptly interrupted on Monday when a powerful explosion struck the studio mid-air, forcing the anchor to flee as cameras captured the chaos in real time.

According to Iranian media, the incident occurred while the presenter was delivering a critical commentary on Israel. Moments after she referenced “aggression against the homeland,” a loud blast was heard, filling the studio with dust and debris. The screen behind her shattered, and she quickly exited the set before the station cut to prerecorded footage. Clips of the incident have since gone viral across social media platforms.

Iran has condemned the strike, blaming Israel and labeling it a “war crime.” Tehran’s state broadcaster described the attack as an intentional assault on media infrastructure and civilian targets.

The explosion came shortly after Israel issued a warning urging evacuation from parts of central Tehran, including the district housing national police headquarters, major hospitals, and the state broadcasting complex.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant warned prior to the strike that Iran’s “propaganda and incitement mouthpiece” was “about to disappear,” signaling a possible escalation targeting Iran’s communications and intelligence capabilities.

Earlier in the day, Iran launched a new wave of missile strikes targeting Israeli territory, reportedly killing at least eight people and prompting swift retaliatory action from the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).

Israeli military spokesperson Major General Effie Defrin confirmed that Israel had achieved “full aerial superiority over Tehran’s skies,” and announced that Israeli forces had neutralized over 120 surface-to-surface missile launchers—approximately one-third of Iran’s arsenal.

General Defrin also stated that Israeli airstrikes had successfully hit 10 command centers operated by the Quds Force, the elite expeditionary arm of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). “These strikes represent a deep and comprehensive blow to the Iranian threat,” he added.

As the conflict enters its fourth day, international observers are calling for urgent de-escalation, warning of the potential for broader regional destabilization. The Iranian government has yet to release a full casualty report from the television studio attack, and investigations into the extent of the damage are ongoing.
