U.S. Military On High Alert For Iranian Retaliation Following Trump’s Strikes On Nuclear Sites

The U.S. military is bracing for potential retaliatory attacks following airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, which were launched in coordination with Israeli forces over the weekend.

According to reports from Mail Online, American military leaders have warned troops across the Middle East to prepare for counterstrikes targeting U.S. bases and strategic facilities. Commanders have also expressed concern over possible activation of Iranian-linked terrorist cells abroad, including within the United States.

“This operation will likely provoke counterattacks on U.S. assets in the region,” a military advisory reportedly stated, warning that Iran or its affiliated groups could attempt to strike American personnel or installations.

The airstrikes, carried out on Saturday, June 21, involved U.S. B-2 stealth bombers—often referred to as “bunker busters”—and targeted three critical nuclear sites in Iran: Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan. These sites are widely regarded as central to Iran’s uranium enrichment and nuclear weapons development program.

President Donald Trump confirmed the operation in a post on his Truth Social platform just before 8:00 p.m. ET that evening.

“We have completed our very successful attack on the three nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside Iranian airspace. A full payload of bombs was dropped on the primary site, Fordow,” he wrote. “All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American warriors. There is not another military in the world that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!”

A senior White House official told the Daily Mail that Trump had informed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ahead of the operation. The two leaders have since spoken following the strikes.

The Pentagon has yet to release a formal statement regarding potential threats, but regional U.S. installations have reportedly heightened their security posture amid growing concerns about escalation and asymmetric retaliation from Tehran or its regional proxies.

As the situation continues to evolve, global leaders are urging restraint while analysts warn of a possible chain reaction that could further destabilize the already tense Middle East landscape.
