Putin thanks Trump for ‘friendly’ tone of talks as he lays FLOWERS at graves

Vladimir Putin dropped some words of thanks to Donald Trump for the ‘friendly’ tone of the conversation they had on Friday and said Russia and the United States should “turn the page and go back to cooperation.”

He acknowledged Trump as someone who ‘has a clear idea of what he wants to achieve and sincerely cares about the prosperity of his country, and at the same time shows understanding that Russia’s has its own national interests.’

‘I expect that today’s agreements will become a reference point not only for solving the Ukrainian problem, but will also mark the beginning of the restoration of businesslike, pragmatic relations between Russia and the U.S.,’ Putin said.

Vladimir Putin left Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson and traveled to Fort Richardson National Cemetery to lay flowers at the graves of Soviet pilots, Russian media reported.

While speaking with journalists, Putin referenced the Alaska-Siberia air route, through which US aircraft were delivered to the Soviet Union during World War II.

‘It was a dangerous and treacherous route over the vast emptiness of ice,’ Putin said. ‘However, the pilots of both countries did everything they could for a common victory.’
