Daylight Drone Strike In Kharkiv Leaves Four Hurt Amid Escalating Attacks

A Russian drone strike targeted a bustling street in Kharkiv on Tuesday, injuring at least four people, according to local officials. The attack is the latest in a series of assaults on Ukraine’s second-largest city, which has been under near-daily bombardment since the start of September.

Regional governor Oleh Syniehubov reported that the drone struck a commercial area lined with shops and cafes, sparking fires and damaging several buildings. Emergency crews rushed to the scene to evacuate civilians and contain the flames. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as people fled the area, fearing further strikes.

Medical authorities confirmed that four people, including a 15-year-old teenager, sustained shrapnel wounds. All were transported to nearby hospitals, where they are receiving treatment. Officials said their injuries were not life-threatening.

Ukraine’s air force stated that several drones were launched toward Kharkiv from Russia’s Belgorod region, with most being intercepted. However, at least one managed to bypass air defenses and hit the busy street. The attack underscores the ongoing difficulty of defending urban centers located close to the border.

Kharkiv has endured repeated strikes targeting residential buildings, energy infrastructure, and public spaces. Local authorities urged residents to remain vigilant and seek shelter during air raid alerts, warning that the city remains a key target in Moscow’s campaign to terrorize civilians.
