Is Prince Harry Planning A UK Return After Five Years Abroad

Prince Harry has given his clearest indication yet that a future return to the UK may be on the horizon—and his children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, could be the driving force behind the decision.

Speaking at the WellChild Awards in London last week, the Duke of Sussex praised the UK’s strong sense of “community” and its education system, drawing comparisons with life in the United States.

Behind the scenes at the 20th annual event, Harry caught up with guests including singer Joss Stone, who introduced him to her three-month-old daughter Nalima. “It was really sweet to see him after all these years,” she recalled. “Harry was so lovely with Nalima—even though she slept through the whole thing! I’ll be sure to tell her that when she was two months old a prince called her beautiful.”

Joss revealed the pair also spoke about family life, with Harry joking about her having four children—“two too many,” he quipped—before asking about her return to the UK. “He was saying how wonderful the schools are here and how important community is for children,” she added. “That’s exactly why we came back—for the kids to grow up surrounded by family, friends, and a strong sense of belonging.”

Prince Harry has hinted he misses the ‘community’ and amazing schools in the UK (pictured with children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet and wife Meghan Markle)

The remarks have fueled speculation that Harry, who turns 41, is considering a permanent move back to Britain, especially following his recent private meeting with King Charles at Clarence House. The father and son shared a 54-minute tea, a sit-down that insiders say had been “under consideration” for some time. “He would like a relationship with his father. There’s no doubt about that,” a long-time friend of Harry said.

Harry, who has been patron of WellChild for 17 years, also spoke movingly about his commitment to the charity and the lessons he hopes to pass on to his children. “Helping other people helps you as well,” he explained. “I personally get so much out of helping others, and that’s what I’ll be teaching my kids.”

Reflecting on his life with Meghan and their two children, Harry shared how fatherhood has deepened his perspective: “Once you become a parent yourself, everything changes. It’s emotional enough seeing what these families go through, but when you have your own kids, that’s when it really hits you. I am so grateful to have healthy children.”
